ADAMSTOWN LOTTO
The winning numbers in the Adamstown Lotto draw on Monday 19th were: 8 – 9 – 10 – 15. There was no Jackpot winner including online players. The following two players matched three numbers and each got €100. Lisa Bradley, C/o Cáit & James O’Neill, the Boola.
ADAMSTOWN LOTTO COMES TO AN END
Following meetings of the three groups involved in the Adamstown Lotto – GAA, Soccer Club and Parish Committee it was unanimously agreed that the Lotto would end as the profit margins are too low to justify it continuing.
Adamstown Lotto’s first draw was on 7th February 1995, so after 30 years and with many organizations receiving funding and many Jackpot winners & Match 3 winners, both local and much further away, it is sad to see it end, but the reality is – after several attempts to keep it going, it’s time to finish.
The final draw will take place in Cullen’s Pub on Monday
9th June at 9.30pm. In accordance with the rules of our Lotto Insurance, the Jackpot stands at €4,800 and if there is no Jackpot winner on the night, the full amount of €4,800 will be divided equally between the match three winners. If there are no Match 3 winners, there will be a Lucky Dip draw of four winners who will share this amount.
It goes without saying that we cannot forget and are so grateful for the huge amount work done by so many people over those 30 years to keep it going. A huge thanks to all who purchased tickets, the sellers, the shops/pubs, all who helped check tickets on the many draw nights. A special thanks to Paul Cullen & Staff who facilitated the delivery & collection of Lotto books over the years. Without the help of so many people it would never have gone on so long.
On the 9th June, we invite everyone who worked over the years in whatever capacity to join us for the final time as we say goodbye to ‘Adamstown Lotto’

A MESSAGE FROM FR. NOLAN – Holy Communion
Dear Parents,
You have had the great joy of witnessing your child’s First Holy Communion. Your child has received for the first time, the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords, who has come down from Heaven into the soul of an innocent child that soul is Heaven on Earth.
Make this precious time eternal by guarding their faith in Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour. Spend time at home with them in
their Sacred Space each day in prayer. Make every Sunday, Heaven on Earth by bringing your child to Mass.
Peace be with you, Fr Robert.

MIRACLE AT LOURDES
(The Village of Bernadette, Colm Keane & Una O’Hagan)
This is a story of a young disabled man who went to Lourdes, full of hope, in search of a cure. He didn’t get what he sought, but he did find something else. “Before going to Lourdes, I often kicked against my fate,” he said. “I often grumbled and bemoaned my lot. I was often jealous of those who had greater physical strength and powers than I had.”
A five-day visit to Lourdes changed everything. The young man found peace and contentment. “I never wanted to leave it,” he said. “I never experienced the same peace anywhere else in the world, and the same feeling returned each time I went to Lourdes. It was always the same. Peace, complete peace of mind and soul.” Echoing the views of so many people who have visited, he concluded: “Those five days were the five happiest days of my life.”
SUPPORTING OUR CHURCH IS A DUTY
All the same, some things in religion are free.
Radio-star Wilfred Pickles, at a Catholic gathering, told how, before he had been received into the Church, he went to Mass for the first time with his wife. He saw Mabel put her hand into a bowl, and thought this was the nice unobtrusive Catholic way of taking a collection. He accordingly dropped a shilling into the same bowl, and was rather astonished to find his fingers wet.
Later on, during Mass he discovered that there was a proper collection to give to with nothing unobtrusive about it; in fact, there were two collections. On his way out he was more astonished to find his shilling still there, he quietly pocketed it.
A THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK
Dreams are the seeds of change. Nothing ever grows without a seed, and nothing ever changes without a dream.
PRAYER FOR THE WEEK – Evening Prayer
Lord, as I prepare to rest, I thank you for the day and all your blessings. Grant me a peaceful night’s sleep, free from worry and fear. Protect me and my loved ones throughout the night.
May I wake up refreshed and renewed. Amen.
