PAPAL TWEETS by Pope Francis
When the journey is uncertain and you fall, God rich in mercy will extend his hand to pick you up.
The Christian heart is always full of joy. Always. Joy received as a gift and kept in order to be shared with everyone.
The response to the 24 Hour Adoration on the weekend of Sat April 1st & Sun April 2nd was most encouraging.
St. Abban’s Oratory was a place of peace and contemplation the comfortable atmosphere added much to the solemn silence. We are very grateful to both parishioners and those who came from outside the parish, who were present during the day time, but especially for those who made a great sacrifice by coming in the early hours of Sunday morning. God Bless you all.
A THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK
A famous artist drew a beautiful picture of Christ with his head crowned with thorns and a lantern in his hand, knocking at a closed door. He called the picture ‘The Light of the World’. A friend of his who was familiar with the painting said to him “you have put no handle on the door”. The artist answered “You forget…….. the handle is on the inside”.
AN EASTER PRAYER
Living God, present to us and in us,
At Easter you spoke your “Yes” to the world and in doing so you gifted us with faith, hope and love.
Through our celebration of Holy Week we ask you to
deepen our faith, so that we may trust that you are with us in all we do.
Strengthen our hope, so that we may continue to walk with you.
Enliven our love, so that others may come to know
that we are indeed and Easter people and that alleluia is our song.
We make this prayer through Christ our Lord. Amen.
