A THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK
Every day is a gift from God
CADBURY’S ACCUSED OF BURYING EASTER WITH EGG GAME.
In England this Easter, Cadburys and the National Trust are planning more than ‘300’ alternative Good Friday events, with egg hunts due to take place, not only on Easter Day, but also on Good Friday from 10.am to 4pm.
Many people including the PM. Theresa May have raised concerns about the appropriateness of setting up a secular rival to the religious festival – replacing the Passion of Jesus with the hunt for a Cadbury bunny.
The word ‘Easter’ has been dropped from all marketing and publicity as they have been expanded this year with more than a million families targeted and 380,000 children expected to attend. (The Universe 7th April 2017)
SHAMROCK VINTAGE CLUB
The Shamrock Vintage Club will present the proceeds of the recent Road Run to Colaiste Abbáin on Monday April 24th at 8.30pm. Presentation will be made in the College.
All are welcome. If anyone would like to make a donation they are welcome to do so before the presentation night.
The Cub would like to express their thanks to everyone who make the day such a success.
EASTER REFLECTION (Helen Steiner Rice)
With OUR EYES we see
The beauty of Easter
as the earth awakens once more……
With OUR EARS we hear
The birds sing sweetly
to tell us Spring again is here….
With OUR HANDS we pick
the golden daffodils
and the fragrant hyacinth….
But only with OUR HEARTS
can we feel the MIRACLE of GOD’S LOVE
which redeems all men………..
And only with OUR SOUL
can we make our ‘pilgrimage to God’
and inherit His Easter Gift of ETERNAL LIFE.
Best wishes to all our parishioners for a Happy Easter. We send our greetings to all who are in hospital, nursing homes, or being looked after at home. Our thoughts are with our parishioners who are abroad for a very Happy Easter.
Welcome home to all visiting our Parish over Easter and may you all enjoy your visit home.
