‘DARE TO CARE’ Cancer Fundraiser in Brad Og’s
Organized by Linda Duffy, ‘Dare to Care’ in conjunction with the Today FM Dare to Care initiative to help raise money for cancer research. Raising in excess of €2,200, Lynda was delighted with the success, it was a wonderful night of fun and enjoyment for all the ladies who dressed up, some in wedding dressed others in Debs and evening wear, one brave man who stole the show, well done Pat!
Thanks to all who gave sponsorship money, and to those who donated prizes, and especially to Bernie in Brad Og’s, a very successful night.
Dancer Fiona McCabe, daughter of John & Kay, made it into the finals of Germany’s Got Talent with an Irish singing and dancing group. Fiona who works for Take 2 Promotions and their show Dúlamán: Voice of the Celts was a big hit with the show’s judges over the past few weeks. The group recently secured a deal with Sony music on their success on the show and will be doing a tour of Germany in January.
Fiona who started dancing when she was just four with Margo Murphy School of Music, will be touring China with the Celtic Legends group in 2018 and we wish her continued success in her dancing career.
Most of us spend our lives working, saving, rearing a family, acquiring assets as belongings that can be of immense value to us whether monetary or sentimental. By making a will you make sure that all those treasured belongings pass on in a simple way to the people You choose. Once a will is made it gives you tremendous peace of mind.
If you don’t make a will….
If you die without making a will, you may cause a lot of unnecessary stress and complications for your family and involve them in considerable extra costs. The state will act as fairly as possible, but it would have no instructions to follow. It cannot read a deceased person’s mind, or make any allowances for the differing circumstances or needs of individual members of your family.
You should not put off …. making a will.
The following are some of the recommendations, which Pope Francis, made to his Vatican employees to do last year.
“Take care of your spiritual life, your relationship with God, because this is the backbone of everything we do and everything we are”.
“Take care of your family life, giving your children and loved ones not just money, but most of all your time, attention and love”.
“Take care of your relationship with others, transforming your faith into life and your words into good works, especially on behalf of the needy”.
“Heal wounds of the heart with the oil of forgiveness, forgiving those who have hurt us and medicating the wounds we have caused others”.
“Take care of brothers and sisters who are weaker… the elderly, the sick, the hungry, the homeless and strangers, because we will be judged on this”.
