COLAISTE ABBAIN STUDENTS – ANTHONY & KIEVA
On their visit to Lourdes
Going to Lourdes was honestly one of the best things we have ever done and it is something that we will remember for life, and will never forget the great memories we made there. Between meeting the invalids and hearing their stories, visiting the grotto and all of the churches, chapels and basilicas, to singing, dancing, making friends for life and having the craic, it was a brilliant experience that we will cherish for life and would recommend to anyone young or old to visit Lourdes

REFLECTION: - FAMILY
A People Place (William Crocker)
If this is not a place where tears are understood,
Where do I go to cry?
If this not a place where my spirits can take wing,
Where do I go to fly?
If this is not a place where my questions can be asked,
Where do I go to seek?
If this is not a place where my feelings can be heard,
Where do I go to speak?
If this is not a place where you’ll accept me as I am,
Where can I go to be?
If this is not a place where I can try to learn and grow,
Where can I be just me?

WHY GO TO CHURCH?
A Church-goer wrote a letter to the editor of a newspaper and complained that it made no sense to go to Church every Sunday. “I’ve gone for 30 years now,” he wrote, “and in that time I have heard something like 3,000 sermons. But for the life of me, I can’t remember a single one of them. So, I think I’m wasting my time and the priests and pastors are wasting theirs by giving sermons at all”. This started a real controversy in the “Letters to the Editor” and it went on for weeks until someone wrote the following letter. “I’ve been married for 30 years now. In that time my wife has cooked some 32,000 meals. But, for the life of me, I cannot recall the entire menu for a single one of these meals. But I do know this…. They all nourished me and gave me the strength that I needed to do my work. If my wife had not given me these meals, I would be physically dead today. Likewise, if I had not gone to Church for nourishment, I would be spiritually dead today!” (Author unknown)

ARE WE CHALLENGED BY THE GOSPEL MESSAGE
I began to wonder if anyone still believed Jesus meant those things he said. I thought if we just stopped and asked “what if he really meant it?” it could turn the world upside down. It is a shame Christians have become normal’
