The weekly ‘30’ Card Game continues in the Community Centre this Friday 31st August at 9pm. Thanks to the ladies for the teas last week. Catering on Fri 31st will be: Mary Delaney, Sheelagh Delaney, Catherine O’Rourke & Elizabeth Green. On Fri 7th Sept will be: Catherine Walsh, Eileen J Walsh, Eileen N Walsh. On Fri 14th will be: Callie Doyle, Angela Furlong & Louise Furlong. Proceeds going to Parish funds.

The Annual Patron, Rosary and Blessing of graves will take place in Adamstown next Sunday 2nd Sept. The Mass will be celebrated outdoor (weather permitting) at 1.30pm otherwise in St Abban’s Church. A large attendance is expected, so please come early, particularly if you would like a seat. We owe everything we have today to all those who have gone to their eternal reward. It is only right and proper that we remember and pray for all our relations, friends and neighbours, who have passed on over the years.
May they all sleep in the happiness of Heaven.
Would all members of the Cemetery Committee please report for duty at 12.30pm. Please obey the parking stewards and be as generous as possible to Cemetery Collection. This is the 25th Patron that the local Cemetery Committee has organised. Keep up the good work.
As with other years a trailer will be left in the Cemetery this week, we ask everyone attending to the graves of their loved ones, to please put any debris from the graves into this trailer. A sincere thanks to John Kehoe for the use of the trailer during the week.
Coláiste Abbain in Adamstown is a school which is introducing Senior Cycle PE. Principal John Nolan said ‘We will be opening that up to our 5th year students this year along with German for the first time as a Leaving Cert subject and Agricultural Science also. With our new school we have expanded to a dynamic Curriculum and we are able to offer students smaller class sizes of around 24 students compared to other schools in the area, which makes for stronger relations with teachers and classmates.
A drop-in bereavement support group is held in New Ross on the first Thursday of every month in the Pastoral Centre on Robert Street from 11.00am to midday. The New Ross Parish Bethany Bereavement Support Group is there for people who have suffered a bereavement.

We are now seeking nominations from the local community, for consideration at our Company AGM to replace retiring directors. Raheen Community Development Group Company Ltd by Guarantee is the Governing body of all the projects taking place at the centre under the Family Resource Centre Programme. The overall aim is to work in collaboration with the local community and relevant agencies to provide family support through develop community-based responses for families and the community. PAPAL MASS – BIG SCREEN - 26th August 2018 @ 2pm You are invited to view the Papal Mass from a large screen in St Mary & St Michael’s Parish Church, New Ross, rather than view at home alone – it would be nice to gather as a community and feel part of the celebration. Weather permitting it would be nice to have a picnic in the grounds afterwards. You are invited to bring your own picnic and flags. Tea will be available in the Legion of Mary Pastoral Centre. The news that all school going children have been waiting for! Adamstown National School reopens this Thursday August 30th at 9.20am.
We welcome back all our staff and our new Principal, Mr. Tom Cousins and extend every good wish to Ms. Caroline Delaney who has taken up a new Principal position in Wexford and to Mrs Sonia Tierney who has returned to her native Cork. We extend a warm welcome to our new Junior Infants and to all our other students. Wishing every success to our 6th class who are now embarking on a new path in their lives.
