Thanks for your continued support.
Give us, Lord Jesus, the eyes of children
To see your birth with Christmas wonder.
Help us to share in the songs of the angels,
The gladness of the shepherds,
And the worship of the Wise Men.
Close the door on hate,
And open the door to love, all over the world.
Let kindness come with every gift,
And blessing with every greeting.
Deliver us from evil, by the blessing Christ brings
And teach us to be merry with clean hearts.
May Christmas morning
Make us happy to be your children
And Christmas evening
Bring us to rest with grateful thought,
Forgiving and forgiven. Amen.

Being sent to the tower in years gone by was the lot of many who resisted British Rule in Ireland. Few emerged alive recent reports on the state of the tower of St Abbans Church indicate that remedial work will have to be undertaken in the new year. The financial impact on our resources may well be l severe. The Parish Committee would hope that some fund raising event in 2020 might alleviate the pressure .We will keep you informed of developments Thank You.

"Dear Daddy -in her best handwriting, eleven -year -old Jane wrote a letter to her make -believe father every week. She addressed the envelope to herself, and every week without fail, she wrote back "-Dear Jane For this shy youngster living in a local authority home, two postage stamps and a dream father were the only cure she had available for an affliction that is so pathetically easy to diagnose------ loneliness,
something which afflicts so many people at Christmas time.

An amazing event again this year huge well done to Ms Breen, Ms Erskine, Ms Murphy and everyone who helped organise the craft fair which most definitely was a festive celebration of entrepreneurialism and innovation in Colaiste Abbain. He swept floors in a factory, did administrative tasks, worked at a laboratory while specialising in applied chemistry in high school, and worked briefly as a bouncer . The vocation of a priest , on the other hand, would be the exact opposite for Fr Bergoglio; it would be drawing people close, not tossing them out, and not worrying about getting dirty in the process.
"Priests who are -allow me to say the word aseptic those from the laboratory all clean and tidy -do not help the Church the Pope told Rome's priests in 2014". Today we can think of the Church as a field hospital he said because there are so many people who are wounded by material problems . by scandals also in the Church People wounded by the world's illusions. We priests must be there, close to these people"
Congratulations to Fr Jorge Bergoglio-( Pope Francis) who celebrated the Golden Jubilee of his ordination to the Priesthood on Friday 13th December Ad Multos ,Annos.
