ANNUAL PATRON
After a damp morning on Sunday last, the weather greatly improved for our Annual Patron Mass and Blessing of the graves. As with other years, there was a huge attendance, who joined in the celebration of Mass in St Abban’s Church. Fr Nolan was joined by Fr Odhran Furlong and Fr Jim Furlong in the celebration, many people remained at family graves in lovely sunshine and the Mass was relayed by loudspeaker to the cemetery. Following Mass Fr Nolan blessed the graves and Fr Jim & Fr Odhran recited the rosary. The whole cemetery looked splendid with the graves beautifully decorated and a fantastic array of flowers and colours. Thanks to all those who so lovingly care for the graves of their loved ones throughout the year and in particular at the time of our patron. Thanks also to the Cemetery Committee whose commitment and dedication to the cemetery is appreciated so much by everyone. Thanks to the choir/folk group for their lovely music, singing and to Padraig for his musical participation in the ceremony. Thanks to the altar servers, Eucharistic ministers. Thanks to Cait for her continued work and help in St Abban’s. Thanks to the following: the FAS workers for their work in the Church grounds and in the cemetery in keeping it looking so well, to the Cemetery Committee for their work in traffic control and they wish to thank most sincerely all those who gave so generously to the Cemetery upkeep collection taken up on the day, the amount donated came to €2,745 which will be spent on the continued upkeep of the Cemetery and grounds. What would happen were we to treat the Bible as we treat our mobile phone?
Were we to open it several times a day:
Were we to read God’s messages contained in the Bible…..
What would happen? (Franciscus)

PRAYER FOR THE WEEK (St. Francis de Sales)
DO NOT FEAR
Do not fear what may happen tomorrow:
The same everlasting Father who cares for you today,
Will take care of you then and everyday.
He will either shield you from suffering, or will give you unfailing strength to bear it.
Be at peace, and
Put aside all anxious thoughts and imagination.
