The weekly “30” Card Game continues in the Community Centre on Friday January29th @ 9pm. Thanks to the ladies for the teas last week. There is €220 in prize money on offer each night. Catering Friday January 29th will be: Bridget Boland, Patricia Furlong, Edel English and Fiona Power. Proceeds going to Parish Funds.

LOTTO DRAW
There was no Jackpot winner on Monday 11th January. The winning numbers were 10-20-21-24. Two matched three numbers: Peter Lawlor c/o Callie Doyle and Fredy Murphy, 27 Longstone Drive c/o Pat Martin.
Next draw will take place on February 1st in the Boro Inn, Clonroche.

PARISH MEETING
Reminding all parishioners of the meeting in the community centre this Tuesday 26th @ 8:30pm to discuss the cemetery committee’s proposals as outlined in last weeks newsletter and in the Adamstown notes in the local newspaper. Everyone welcome to attend.

TABLE QUIZ
A table quiz will take place in Ryan’s Pub, Galbally on Thursday 28th January @ 9pm. €20 per table.

ADAMSTOWN CAMOGIE CLUB
U 10 & U12 camogie training will take place on Monday nights in Raheen Hall between 7 -8pm starting on 25th January and will run for six weeks. Cost will be €5 per child for the entire six sessions. Helmets must be worn by all players and hurls will be provided.

ADAMSTOWN ATHLETIC CLUB
Adamstown A.C was out in force last Sunday in Kilmore for the county cross country relay teams. In all 11 teams took part, coming home with one 1st, two 2nd and three 3rd team prizes. It was an exciting start to the New Year. The club is back training in full swing in the hall in Adamstown on Thursday @ 6:15. Membership for the year is now due and all new members are welcome to come along and give it a try. Results of county cross country relay are as follows:-
U 10 Girls-2nd Team – Triona Mooney, Tara Doyle, Emier Mernagh, Roisin Dillion.
U10 Girls-3rd Team – Sonia Mooney, Julie Furlong, Aoife Muldoon, Marguerite Furlong.
U 10 Girls also competed were – Kate Jackman, Rachel Power, Zara Power, Una Barden, Aideen Stafford,
 Leah Carthy Walsh, Sarah O Gorman and Katelyn Mernagh.
U 10 Boys-3rd Team – Padraic Wickham, Luke Byrne, Graig Wall and Seanie O Neill.
U 10 Boys also competed were – David O Gorman, Eoin O Gorman, Eoin French and James Dillon.
U 12 Girls-3rd Team – Shannon Wall, Roisin Stephenson, Caoimhe Doyle and Oonagh Murphy.
U 12 Boys competed were – JP Furlong, Conor O Gorman, James O Shea, Joe Mooney, Jack Power,
Ryan Carthy Walsh, Andrew French and Brian O Gorman.
U 14 Girls-1st Team – Patrice O Gorman, Claire Stephenson, Ellen O Brien and Kate Roche.
U 16 Boys-2nd Team – Stephen O Gorman, Joseph Byrne, Sean Barden and Eoin Furlong.

RAHEEN MULTIMEDIA CENTRE
There are still a small number of spaces available for the Digital Photography Class commencing on Thursday evening 28th January, it runs form 7pm – 9pm. There will also be a morning class on digital photography starting on the same date. A 6 week internet and email class will be commencing on Tuesday 26th January from 10am – 12noon. There are a limited number of spaces available for after school classes on Wednesdays from 3pm – 4pm. For further information on all of these courses contact Chris or Anne on 051 428811.

MEDALS PRESENTED
Medals were presented to successful underage teams at a function organised by the youth section (Coiste na nOg) of St Abban’s Adamstown GAA club in the community centre in Adamstown on Saturday night last. Included were the medals to the minor footballers who won the county final, runner-up medals to the minor hurlers and under-14 footballers and certificates of merit awards to the under-8s.County senior footballer Eric Bradley had the honour of presenting the medals to the minors while team trainer David Byrne also made presentations.
The selectors of the successful minor teams, Eddie Dillon, David Byrne and Nick Whelan were made a presentation by the team captain Liam Mc Donald and presentations were also made to Agnes Whelan and Ellen Furlong for their help with the team during the year. The large attendance which included most of the parents were welcomed by the Coiste na nOg chairman William Stafford and by the hard working secretary Helen Furlong whose photo display board was the centre of much attention. Refreshments were supplied by the good ladies after the presentations were made and everyone present eventually went home full and happy.

BAPTISM
The Christian community welcomes with great joy Sean Doyle son of Patrick and Edel, Ballyvergin who was Baptised in St Abban’s Church, Adamstown on December 31st 2009.
