A THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK
Lord help me to remember
That nothing is going to happen to me.
That you and I together can’t handle
WORDS OF WISDOM
Look beyond the past, present and future

Dates are scheduled
The season of prayer
A Catholics summer
The smell of cut grass
The sea of flowers
The glare of stone.
From parish to parish
Reverence acted out
Under the spotlight
Of a searing sun.
Children long for ice cream
And the freedom of
Well worn clothes
As they kick at the
Many coloured stones.
While the elderly sit
Wherever they can
With aching hips
And their leg ulcers
From a violent sun.
Rosaries recited from sweating lips
While persistent flies are swathed
From neighbour to neighbour.
As feuding families carry their
Lowered eyes home with them.
Until Winter claims full sleep
Left to its own devices
Memory with full permission
