SYMPATHY
Our condolences to Fr David Murphy and his family on the death of their mother Mrs Sadie Murphy, at the ripe old age of 96. Sadie was in remarkably good health up to the time of her unexpected passing. Every day she took her regular long walk. Each year she was one of the regular pilgrims
to Lourdes. She endeared herself to all by her pleasant and gracious disposition. May her gentle soul rest in peace.

SLOW DOWN
Adamstown Village Residents, Woodview Drive Residents & Fairfield Residents. The above residents are very concerned about the speed and volume of traffic through the village. Parents are asked to be vigilant and not allowing their children to play on the roads, parents are the first educators of their children about the rules of the road. Some near misses have been reported. Green areas are provided in both estates for children to play. It is in the interest of everybody to try and avoid a tragedy on the roads. Please drivers coming into the village PLEASE SLOW DOWN.
As the schools re-open this week, please we aware that children will be walking on our roads so please slow down.

DID YOU KNOW?
Cats step with both left legs, then both right legs when they walk or run. The only other animals to do this are the giraffe and the camel.

Because he felt such an important tool should be public property, English chemist John Walker never patented his invention – matches.

A THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK
The difference between a winner and a loser
The winner is always a part of the answer; the loser is always a part of the problem. The winner sees an answer for every problem; the loser sees a problem for every answer. The winners sees a green near every sand trap, the loser sees two or three sand traps near every green. The winner says, “it may be difficult, but it’s possible”, the loser says, “it may be possible, but it’s too difficult. The winner always has a programme; the loser always has an excuse. The winner says “let me do that for you”, the loser says, “that’s not my Job”.

REFLECTIVE PRAYER
When I was a child I laughed and wept,
time crept.
When I was a youth I waxed more bold,
time strolled.
When I became a full-grown man,
time RAN.
When older still I daily grew,
time FLEW.
Soon I shall find, in passing on,
time GONE.
O Christ! wilt thou have saved me then?. Amen.
(Lines found above an old clock in Chester Cathedral)

Remember:
God gave you a gift of 86,000 seconds today.
Have you used one to say “thank you?”

A SMILE
The rather nervous lady was on her fist aeroplane flight.
Just before take-off the stewardess came round with some boiled sweets and explained to her that sweets would help reduce the pressure in her ears. Half an hour after take-off the lady asked the stewardess, “Is it alright if I take the sweets out of my ears now?”
