The season of Christmas ends with the celebration of the
Lord.  As the season draws to an end, the solemnity of the Epiphany offers an opportunity to proclaim the centrality of Christ’s paschal mystery; dying be destroyed our death and rising he restored our life.  The Easter Triduum of the passion, death and resurrection of Christ is the culmination of the entire liturgical year.  The proclamation of the date of Easter may be announced on the solemnity of the Epiphany after the homily or after the prayer after communion.

Dates to remember:

Ash Wednesday 9th March 2011
Easter Sunday 24th April 2011
Pentecost 17th June 2011
Holy Trinity 19th June 2011

“I have this image of heaven
that we’ll find nothing new there.
We’ll wake from the long hours of sleep and nightmares and dreams
and find that the arms which hold us will be the arms which have always held us”.
