M G M MOVIES
We all grew up watching Metro Golden Mayer Films. Reported activity in the Pallas area last weekend where film crews were busy on set all day with many locals draughted in as the history of events in the 1916 and Civil War period were recorded. Congratulations to all who are involved and especially to Bill Murray, Templenacrow and the new M G M, Murray’s Great Movies.
INTERMEDIATE HURLERS VICTORY
Our hurlers played with heart and hand to carve out a historic victory in Wexford Park on Saturday 9th of October. When they overcome a strong challenge from Buffers alley. A member of the players brought the Cup to Colaiste Abban and Scoil Abban during the week. Our commiserations to the Junior D Hurlers who lost to Bunclody by the minimum score but nevertheless emulated the hurlers by the wonderful display and the whole hearted spirit in which they played.
Well done to the players and mentors.

THE BLESSED SACRAMENT
After Mass, it is customary to keep the remaining Hosts in the tabernacle on or near the alter in the church. Usually, a red lamp burns reminding us of his Real Presence there. The Blessed Sacrament is a centre for public and private devotions in the Church. Holy Communion can be brought from there to the sick and housebound.
Whenever you get the chance, do drop into the chapel to visit Christ Our Lord. Take Holy Water reverently. Bless yourself, walk towards the tabernacle, genuflect and kneel. Speak to him in your own way.
MISSION SUNDAY 23TH OF OCTOBER
The annual Collection will take place in the Porch of the Church. Jesus said “go out in the Whole world and proclaim the good news”. A donation of at least €5.00 would mean a contribution of roughly 1c per day for the year and should be within the reach of everyone! Our Missionaries all over the world have a great spirit of generosity we can make this contribution and remember them in our prayers. Thank you.
A THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK
Lead, kindly light, amid the’ encircling gloom,
lead Thou me on!
The night is dark, and I am from home; lead Thou me on!
Keep Thou my feet; I do not ask to see
The distant scene; one step enough for me
I was not ever thus, nor prayed that Thou shouldst
lead me on;
I loved to choose and see my path; but now lead
Thou me on!
I loved the garish day, and, spite of fears,
Pride ruled my will. Remember not past years!
So long Thy power hath blest me, sure it will lead me on.
O’er moor and fen, o’er crag and torrent,
till the night is gone,
And with the morn those angel faces smile, which I
Have long since, and lost awhile.
John Henry Newman
