ADAMSTOWN LOTTO RESULTS
The winning numbers in the Adamstown Lotto draw on Monday 12th June were: 7 – 9 – 17 – 26. There was no Jackpot winner including online. There was for match three players who each received €50.00. John Hanley & Ellie Del, C/o Cullen’s Shop; Furlong Family, Mistycourt, Niamh Kelly, A & M Hardware; and Derek & Patrick, Cullen’s Shop.
The next Lotto draw is on Monday 26th June in the Community Centre for a Jackpot of €15,000. Keep on buying the tickets – it will be won!!
ADAMSTOWN COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE – (ACDC) – Time to have your say:
The newly formed ACDC is now up and running. This is a non-profit organisation located in Adamstown. Our mission is to provide better quality services for the people of Adamstown in co-operation with existing local voluntary, sporting and cultural organisations.
Over the coming weeks committee members will be distributing a survey to all households within the Adamstown area boundaries. The purpose of this survey is to find out your views about Adamstown as a community and how we can best improve everyday life for Adamstown householders and business people alike.
The survey is anonymous and will be treated in the strictest confidence.
We hope you will make your views with ACDC, so we can work together to make Adamstown even better for all who reside here.

EULOGY READ AT NED BUCKLEY’S FUNERAL MASS ON Friday 26th May 2023 by Emma Cummins
The Buckley family want to firstly extend our gratitude to all the relatives, friends and those who came today to honour Ned’s life. As well as thanks to everyone who helped out over the last few days. It really is a testament to how much Ned was loved and respected to see so many willing to do anything to help. Ned was an outgoing and sociable person, as anyone who knew him would not deny. He would have loved to see all the faces here today and would have been having chats with everyone and enjoying great catch-ups.
Ned was well known to be seen on the roads early in the morning out walking and would have been delighted with such a lovely summer’s day to get out and about for the fresh air and the chats that he would have with anyone he met on his way. Ned loved to get out and about and would often be seen in New Ross doing the shopping and saying hello to everyone he knew, which was probably nearly everyone in town as he was liked by so many people.
Ned was a kind man and would do a good deed for anyone. He would often be seen bringing his mother or sister Peg to town or wherever they wanted to go in his beloved car or doing a good turn to help someone out. He loved nothing more than spending the day in Tramore playing cards on the machine to pass the time and getting the all-important bag of chips on the way home.
Ned also had a passion for sport, especially soccer and Clougbawn, his team that he had a great involvement with over the years, where he coached the ladies team and brought them to many victories over the years. Ned loved to have a chat about sport all be it as a Wexford man, sometimes it was more of a conversation of ‘will we ever win a match or where did it all go wrong’.
One thing for sure Ned will be deeply missed by his brothers and sisters and all his extended family, as he was so dearly loved by them all.
I know Ned will be watching over you all keeping up with everything. Rest in peace Ned.

WEEKLY ENVELOPE COLLECTION
Weekly Envelopes for the year 2023-2024 will shortly be distributed. Many people avail of the facilities of the Parish for Baptism, Confirmation, 1st Holy Communion and Funerals and for the Vigil Mass on Saturday and Sunday morning Mass. Just as you must pay for heating, lighting, Insurance and maintenance of your home, the Parish must also pay for these services etc., The Weekly Envelope Collection is essential for us to pay for these services. Many thanks to the generous parishioners who make this possible. A President of the U.S. once said “There aint no such thing as a free lunch – someone has to pay for it”
Some may not have contributed for a long time. Perhaps you might think of making a contribution next weekend?
You may contribute annually if you wish. Another option is a Bankers Order, which we can make available to you.

ADAMSTOWN ICA NEWS
Adamstown ICA Guild held their monthly meeting & last guild meeting of the summer on Wed last June 14th in
Adamstown Community Centre. Our President Helen Furlong welcomed all & after the formalities were dealt with we got down to business. We are hosting the “Special Occasions” this year in Coláiste Abbáin on Thursday 29th June, thanks to Principal John Nolan for giving us permission. The Special Occasions is a County competition between all our guilds and involves displaying five items on a table, crafts, flowers/herbs/ or plants, written material, baking, knitting, sewing or art. The Competition’s Officer will already have decided the theme and the five items chosen to be displayed. It’s a wonderful display of what we do best as a guild and thoroughly enjoy doing. People are welcome to come in and view our tables when judging is over which will be around 7.30pm – 7.45pm. Hopefully Adamstown will do well, but we always have fun nonetheless and everyone can’t win, best of luck to all the guilds involved.
Our summer outing was discussed and there were some good options for us to consider. The guild are also hoping to arrange a monthly outing to a local place of interest and have lunch or maybe attend a film or show.

Helen Furlong, marmalade cake and mug cosy; well done ladies.
Thank you to Frances & Eleanor who served up a most enjoyable tea. Enjoy the summer break everyone and God willing we’ll all be back in September for the next meeting.
